Clear crisp sound and gets loud for a small portable device. Compares well against Bose Soundlink wireless speaker. This unit is much smaller plus you can talk on phone with the Soundmatters speaker and can't with the Bose. The Bose has a little better base and the Soundmatters has very good mid and highs. I put the Soundmatters speaker on a large plastic box (with base plate down) and it had base as good as the Bose. I hooked a powered sub to it and WOW!!! I am ordering a powered sub for my vehicle now after hearing how this small unit sounds with a sub. I love this device, it is small and wonderful for the size. I am very happy with my purchase.
